Who were the Sceptres?

 
  • The Sceptres were a Montreal based harmony vocal & instrumental group, performing & recording from 1959 to 1970.
  • The Sceptres in its most successful form - Marty, Bill, Tim & Tyler remained together from 1966 – 1969.
  • The Sceptres performed from Ontario to Newfoundland and down the Eastern Coast of the United States.
  • The Sceptres recorded for 5 Canadian Record Companies: Fi-Sound, RCA International, Allied, Alliance and Polydor.
  • The Sceptres had International releases in the UK.
  • The Sceptres had one # 1 English Record in Eastern Canada “I Never Had A Love Like That”, and two top 30 Records:
    in Eastern Canada
    “Something’s Coming Along” and “Juicy Morning” with radio airplay across Canada.
  • The Sceptres - “Les Sceptres” also had chart success in Quebec with 2 French releases: “Moi, je pense      toujours à toi” (I Never Had A Love Like That), b/w “Rien qu’une larme” (One Lonely Tear) and “Enfin seul ensemble” (I Think We’re      Alone Now), b/w “Et maintenant” (What Now My Love).
